Warm-Ups and Acting Games:
It is no coincidence that the theatrical product is called a "play." Play is an essential part of what artists do, especially performing artists. Actors use games as a means to break down self-consciousness, increase focus, develop ensemble, create character, and enhance their ability to think on their toes. As part of our training camp, we teach the games and warm-ups that we use in our process to create our main stage productions.

Table Work:
Our camps are about creating stories, and creation requires brainstorming. Table work sessions are the first step in our process of forming a story. The specific topics for table work are dictated by the day's agenda.

Seminar:
Seminars are an opportunity for students to actively engage with some of the many tools actors and directors use to create productions for the stage. Seminars cover a single topic that is incorporated into the camp's larger theme. Seminar topics include stage combat, mask, properties, costume, and voice.
Workshop and Rehearsal:
Students tackle problems of technique, genre, plot, and character and begin to explore the choices and options that they can bring to rehearsal. Students then utilize everything that they have learned during the course of the day to develop the story that they will tell in their final performance.

Q & A and Lunch:
Students have the opportunity to reflect on the activities they have been engaged in and talk to the counselors about their experiences during Q & A sessions and lunches. Counselors are always open to answer any and all questions that the students come up with in the course of the process. Please note: students must provide their own lunches. During Q & A sessions, drinks and pretzels will be provided for all participants.
